MalwareX Privacy Policy

MalwareX is a mobile security application designed to detect malware, analyze apps, scan URLs, and improve device safety. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Data: Name and email (via Firebase Authentication).
• Device Data: Device model, OS version, app version.
• Usage Data: App activity, scan results, preferences.
• Security Data: Installed apps (metadata only), scanned URLs, selected files.

2. Permissions and Usage

• Internet: Required for threat detection APIs and cloud sync.
• Usage Access: Used to detect suspicious app behavior.
• Storage: Used only when user selects files for scanning.
• Location: Used only for Wi-Fi security analysis. We do NOT track location.
• Notifications: Used to alert about threats.
• Biometric: Used only if user enables app lock.

All permissions are optional and requested only with user consent.

3. How We Use Data

• To detect malware and security risks.
• To improve app performance and detection accuracy.
• To provide alerts and scan history.
• To support app functionality and user accounts.

Some security analysis and risk detection may be performed automatically using algorithms and machine learning models. These results are probabilistic and may not always be accurate.

MalwareX does NOT access personal files, messages, or private content without user action.

4. Data Sharing

• We do NOT sell your data.
• We may share limited data with trusted services:
  • Firebase (Authentication, Database)
  • AdMob (Ads)
  • VirusTotal (URL/file scanning)
• AdMob may collect device and usage data for ad delivery in accordance with Google's privacy policies.

5. Data Security

We use secure cloud infrastructure and local processing to protect your data. Data is processed either on-device or securely via trusted services.

6. User Rights

• Access or update your data.
• Delete your account.
• Disable permissions anytime.
• If certain permissions are denied, some security features may be limited or unavailable.

7. Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected with a new update date.
